CONGRATULATIONS, CEDAR CLIFF! 2017 ACADEMIC WORLDQUEST WINNERS IN HARRISBURG

Congratulations to students of Cedar Cliff High, winners of the 2017 Academic WorldQuest Competition sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg.

Winners are: Teacher Angela Camps  and  students —  Patrick Yohe, Aidan Moretz, Nada Rahmouni and Avery Peiffer.

The 2017 Academic WorldQuest Competition of the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg on Saturday, April 1 at Elizabethtown College.  

Second-place winners include: Jesse Lin, Seamus Burns, Evan Sensenig, Tamoya Payne of the Milton Hershey School

Third-place winners are: Abigail West, Alex Crosby, Hayden Dubniczki, Jill Pasewark of Cumberland Valley High School.

High school students from throughout the region participated in the international affairs contest that is part of a national competition sponsored by the World Affairs Councils of America.  The Cedar Cliff team will continue to the national competition on April 28-29 in Washington D.C. at the National Press Club!

The competition has been held on the campus of Elizabethtown College for the past 3 years.Students answered 10 rounds of 10 questions on global issues that included:

Round 1:  Current Events Round 6: Countering Violent Extremism
Round 2: Great Decisions Round 7: Turkey
Round 3: Peace and Conflict in Today’s World Round 8: Global Megacities
Round 4: Combating Infectious Diseases Round 9: China
Round 5: European Union Round 10: Women in Technology

Previous winning teams hailed from Harrisburg Academy and Cumberland Valley!
