A Letter from our President and CEO

Greetings World Travelers & Wannabees!

Congratulations again to the 2023 Academic WorldQuest winning team of Cedar Cliff High. They represented us well in Washington at the national conference.  And they even got a VIP tour of the Capitol, thanks to the kind staff of U.S. Sen. Bob Casey.

Students Rory Gannon, Caleb Masshardt, Rayna Johnson and Jackson Kane, and teacher Ms. Angela Kamps made the most of the Washington DC stay, also enjoying the hospitality of the United States Institute of Peace, where the national competition was held. Among the speakers at the event was Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova, who spoke of her country’s struggle against Russia.

Academic WorldQuest is just one of the ways we support the dreams of our youth to step into the world and make their mark. This summer, we are welcoming both high school and college students for the annual summer internship and enrichment program where they will get an immersion in international affairs, government, media, politics, public health, the arts and more.  If you know a young leader interested in joining our summer internship program, we would welcome their application. They also can email us at wacharrisburg@gmail.com. It’s a summer they’ll never forget!
