2027 MLK International Poetry & Storytelling Festival

Join the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg for our annual International Poetry & Storytelling Festival, celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through the power of the spoken word.

Each January, in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Council brings together a diverse community of local poets, spoken word artists, and storytellers who use their craft to honor Dr. King. The festival also features our poetry and storytelling competition, open to high school and college students, giving young people a platform to engage with the values Dr. King championed: equality, justice, and respect for one another.
