This year our summer internship program was virtual again due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The students were still able to have sessions with local government officials, subject matter experts, artists, and professors. The summer started with a two-week Understanding Government segment which we partnered with Temple University Harrisburg to bring the students into contact with legislators and those involved in the world of politics in Harrisburg. The students were able to go on in-person field trips to City Hall to meet Mayor Wanda Williams, take a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Harrisburg Capitol, and visit the Susquehanna Art Museum.
