Peacemakers in Our Midst

Annual Peace Symposium

To commemorate the tragedy of September 11, 2021, the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg holds an annual International Peace Symposium and presents “Peacemaker in Our Midst” awards to local leaders who are advocates for peace in our community.

The WACH International Peace Symposium is an important event that brings together people from across our region to discuss peace and conflict resolution. The symposium is held on as a way to remember those who lost their lives on September 11th and to reaffirm our commitment to building a more peaceful world.

The “Peacemaker in Our Midst” awards are presented to local leaders who have made significant contributions to peace in our community. The awards are a way to honor those who are working to make our community a more peaceful place. Past recipients have included community organizers, educators, clergy, and business leaders.
